Aftercare
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS | Suomeksi

1 It is important that a new piercing is cleansed with Septidine-solution twice a day. Use paper rather than cotton. During cleaning rotate the piercing allowing Septidine in the wound.
REMEMBER TO WASH HANDS BEFORE CLEANING!

2 After cleaning, apply some Basan-gel on and around the piercing and rotate the piercing again.

3 For genital piercings, soak the piercing in a lukewarm saltwater solution for 15 minutes at least twice a day. This method can be applied to other types of piercing as well.

4 When treating tongue and lip piercings (labrets etc), use exclusively mouthwash or a saltwater solution.

5 Peroxid can be used to clean navel piercings.

6 Try to wear clothes that are loose around the piercing and do not cause abrasion or do not stick to the piercing due to the tissue fluid seeping out of the wound. If regardless of this the piercing does get stuck in clothing, separate it from the clothing by showering warm water over the piercing & clothing.

7 Taking care of your general health speeds up the healing process. During healing, eat vitamine, iron, and zinc supplements.

8 Do not remove the piercing during healing, or the piercing may close.

9 Try not to swim during healing. However swimming in the ocean can actually help the process.

10 When washing, use Seba-Med or other unperfumed soaps.

If proper aftercare is done according to the instructions, the risk of infection is minimal. However if any kind of infection occurs, soak the piercing in a saltwater solution as hot as possible for at least 15 minutes. Repeat as necessary. If the symptoms do not stop, contact your piercer.
